LLDOPA
The Late-Life Depression - L-DOPA study
Participants in the LLDOPA study are helping us to understand the way that dopamine (a common neurotransmitter) influences the speed of walking and thinking in later-life depression, knowledge which will help us identify the most effective treatment for each person with this condition.
Benefits to participating in this study include:
A comprehensive assessment of mental, physical, and cognitive health
Close monitoring and support by a geriatric psychiatrist and research team during an individualized medication trial for depression
The opportunity to receive a special medication that stimulates the dopamine system, which may improve walking and thinking speed associated with later-life depression
Reimbursement for travel expenses
